Pizzeria Gabbo opened Oct 22 at 834 W Fulton Market, in the same building as Beatrix and Aba. It is Lettuce Entertain You's pizzeria, with chef Andrew Ashmore making both Chicago thin and crispy and New York-style pies. Black Briar opened Sep 26 at 201 N Morgan, the old Bar Takito corner. Chef Jimmy Papadopoulos cooks over coal, with a 20-seat bar. Open daily from 4. Eater Chicago ↗

Coming, not open yet

  • Gibsons Tavern, 925 W Fulton Market. Its own site says it opens November 17; the city issued its food and liquor licenses on Oct 28.
  • AMARA, 844 W Randolph. Balkan and Mediterranean from chef Nemanja Milunovic. Reported for November; its own site still says Coming Soon with no date.
  • Osaka Nikkei, 1101 W Lake. Peruvian-Japanese, the group's second US restaurant. No date posted.
  • Palomino, 565 W Randolph. A live-fire steakhouse from El Che chef John Manion, aimed at early 2027. Restaurant Hospitality News ↗

  • The Vig (added Nov 5): a 1950s-style sports parlor on Carpenter, next door to Victory & Vice. Happy hour Monday to Friday, 4 to 7.
